Mount Franklin, 03-04 November 2012

Excellent and challenging weekend climb of Mt Franklin (2145m). Day 1: Wait of 5h at AP village for the Bealy River to go down after the recent rain. After a diffiult crossing we walked up the Mingha to Goat Pass Hut. Day 2: Pre-dawn start down the Deception crossing it a few times (still in high flow) to reach the slip, via which we climbed 300 vertical metres to reach Good Luck Stream and Lake Anna at its head. Then climb of the very icy South face and then South ridge of Mt Franklin in a white out. Back out to the road the same day. Team: James Thornton and Nina Dickerhof
